Salary: £38,476 – £41,956 + £5,000 Market Premium + £2,000 Retention Payment
About the Role
Medway Council is seeking dedicated Social Workers to join our Children’s Services – CSWT team. This role provides an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families by delivering high‑quality, statutory interventions. You will work with children assessed as needing support through Child in Need or Child Protection plans, applying the Signs of Safety practice model to ensure positive outcomes.
As a Social Worker in Medway, you will :
Manage a caseload of children and families, providing focused assessments, SMART plans, and reviews
Work directly with children and young people to understand their experiences, wishes, and feelings
Apply relationship‑ and strengths‑based practice in all interventions
Prepare clear, structured, and timely reports for Child Protection Conferences, strategy meetings, Children in Need meetings, Looked After Children reviews, and court proceedings
Collaborate with families and partner agencies to implement and monitor safety plans, escalating to legal proceedings where necessary
Maintain accurate case records in line with GDPR and Medway Council systems
About You
Experience in statutory social work, particularly Child in Need or Child Protection cases
Strong relationship‑building skills with children, families, and partner agencies
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to team goals
Commitment to reflective practice and continuous professional development
