Project Manager (Band D) – Major Aviation Infrastructure

A major UK aviation infrastructure programme is seeking a Project Manager (Band D) to support and deliver Infrastructure Solutions projects across a dynamic, live operational airport environment. This role focuses on coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing delivery performance and ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget and safety expectations.
Working with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, contractors and sub‑contractors, you’ll help ensure that projects are delivered to a high standard, with strong integration across design, construction, commissioning and operational requirements.
The Role
You will support and deliver project workstreams, ensuring safe, integrated and compliant delivery.
Key responsibilities:
* Plan, lead and manage project teams to deliver integrated and effective solutions
* Build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure requirements are understood and approvals secured
* Lead end‑to‑end execution planning with clear goals, roles and deliverables
* Take responsibility for safety across all project activities
* Coordinate design, development, construction and commissioning inputs
* Report performance using project controls, including earned value and risk analysis
* Manage and administer contracts to support successful delivery
* Ensure project deliverables are tested, commissioned and handed over to operations
* Capture lessons learned through post‑project reviews
* Deliver solutions that support programme objectives, value for money and operational readiness
Experience & Background
This role suits motivated project managers with experience in complex, regulated or operational environments.
Ideal experience:
* Project delivery within aviation, transport, construction or major infrastructure
* Planning and implementing projects with multiple stakeholder interfaces
* Familiarity with project management frameworks (APM advantageous)
* Experience working in commercial or contractual environments
* Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and specialists
* Delivering projects safely within live operational environments
* Understanding of commissioning and integrated delivery processes
