DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team specialising in Manufacturing for our Darlington Technical Organisation in Darlington, United Kingdom.
This is a permanent role, fully onsite, working a rotational shift pattern:

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
4. Maintain high availability and reliability of test cells and supporting plant by proactively maintaining and repairing equipment across the facility.
5. Rapidly diagnose and resolve test cell breakdowns in line with shift priorities to ensure testing can continue with minimal disruption.
6. Optimise test cell performance by prioritising development test cells to support efficient and effective engine testing.
7. Improve site productivity by independently planning, prioritising, and delivering maintenance activities aligned with operational objectives.
8. Champion a strong safety culture by identifying risks, applying controls, and ensuring safe systems of work before undertaking repairs.
9. Act as a key technical liaison for the wider DTO team, providing practical advice on facility and test cellrelated issues.
10. Lead and deliver small inhouse improvement projects, from problem definition through to implementation and successful completion.
11. Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring facility issues, proposing robust solutions, and implementing approved enhancements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
12. Strong faultfinding and problemsolving capability across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and software disciplines.
13. Ability to work independently with limited supervision while making sound decisions in a fastpaced, 24/7 operational environment.
14. Confidence working with contractors, including issuing permits to work, supervising activities, and ensuring full LOTO compliance.
15. A proactive, safetyfirst mindset with the ability to balance operational urgency with quality, legal, and environmental requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
16. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 2365 Level 3 (or equivalent).
17. BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
18. HNC in a relevant engineering discipline (preferred).
19. Significant relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment, with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve complex systems.
The compensation for this role is aligned with a local bargained or unionised agreement.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
