We are looking for a Project Controls Analyst to join a specialist consultancy team supporting a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). This is a "rounded" PMO role where you will act as the primary gatekeeper for the project’s Change Control process.
You will sit at the intersection of Engineering, Finance, and Scheduling—screening change requests from a complex Tier 1 supply chain to ensure they are robust, justified, and ready for client approval.
Key Responsibilities
*
Change Gatekeeping: Receive, screen, and validate Change Requests (technical, cost, and schedule-driven) from subcontractors.
*
Impact Assessment: Analyze the "ripple effect" of changes—how does a design tweak in the field impact the project’s budget and timeline?
*
Supply Chain Liaison: Proactively challenge Tier 1 partners to ensure all change documentation meets high quality and commercial standards.
*
Governance & Reporting: Maintain the Change Log and Trend Register, ensuring a gold-standard audit trail for the client.
*
Integrated Controls: Support the Planning team by ensuring approved changes are accurately reflected in the project baseline.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who understands that "Change" in infrastructure isn't just about a new process—it’s about Cost, Schedule, and Scope.
*
Background: Proven experience in a PMO or Project Controls environment within Nuclear, Energy, Rail, Defence, or Heavy Civil Engineering.
*
Technical Savvy: High competence in Excel. While you don't need to be a P6 Planner, the ability to interpret Primavera P6 schedules or Gantt charts is a major advantage.
*
Commercial Mindset: You understand contract variations and can spot the difference between a necessary change and "scope creep.
*
Communication: Ability to manage stakeholders professionally while maintaining a "challenger" mindset toward the supply chain
