The role of Production Toolmaker/Programmer Engineer is a specialist position responsible for setting up, running, controlling processes, and assisting employees in resolving process issues under the guidance of the Cell Leader to meet targets regarding cost, quality, and timeliness.
You will dedicate part of your time to creating and modifying CNC programs offline, designing work holding, and specifying and ordering tooling.

Main Duties:
* Set up, operate, and control processes as instructed by the Leader.
* Gather all necessary materials, equipment, tooling, and documentation to set up the process.
* Configure the process according to relevant instructions, such as Route Card, P.S.P.I., I.S.P.I., and Working Practice.
* Consult with the Team Leader if process targets cannot be met.
* Perform checks and record results on appropriate documentation.
* Run the process or instruct relevant employees to do so.
* Modify programs offline for changes like material size and tooling adjustments.
* Create new offline programs for established product styles.
* Identify tooling needs for new programs and collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers to design tooling.
* Order external tooling as required.
* Ensure all materials and products are accounted for during processing.
* Maintain accurate and legible records using proper systems.
* Report issues affecting the process or overall cell performance to the Team Leader.
* Communicate with team members and other cell leaders regarding process capability problems as instructed.
* Perform other related duties as required.
Skills & Experience:
* Apprentice-trained, experienced Toolmaker/Programmer.
* Good computer literacy skills.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Extensive knowledge of CNC programming, with additional training provided as needed.
* Experience in selecting appropriate speeds and feeds.
* Understanding of holder, tip, and cutter selection.
* Knowledge of work holding design and requirements.
* Understanding of program optimization.
* Comprehensive knowledge of machinery, equipment, gauging, and processes in the cell.
