About the Role
This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through market expansion, partnerships, and product development. It includes crafting effective strategies, building and maintaining client relationships, and delivering tailored proposals. Responsibilities also encompass presentations to industry, attending industry events to stay informed, setting and achieving sales targets, and maintaining deep knowledge of the company’s offerings and competitive landscape. Additionally, the role requires collaborating with design and sales teams to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
·Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
·Identify and pursue new business opportunities
·Support estimating and bid preparation processes
·Monitor and evaluate customer KPIs such as quote volume, win rate, and profitability
·Drive improvements in commercial and supply chain processes
·Contribute to strategic planning and profit improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
·You will be organised and methodical in requirements capture and communication, personable, likeable and driven.
·Extensive knowledge of UKMOD Defence programs, the aerospace industry and key personalities at the budget holder/Influencer level
·Proven network and track record of sales to Defence and Aerospace
·Ability to manage Customer relationships by leveraging active networks and ensuring their domain is recognised as trustworthy, honest, and dedicated to delivering Customer satisfaction
·Demonstrable ability or track record in selling products and/or solutions to Domestic and/or Export Customers within Defence and Government
·Strong lead capture mind-set and an ability to focus on building the best offer to win a defined bid
·Strong negotiation skills and experience.
·Ability to influence internal stakeholders to achieve the optimum Sales strategy for a given opportunity
·Able to generate and execute a sales/business development plan together with the sales director and global account managers
·Able to coordinate and drive the different proposals, call for tenders
·Travel: ability to travel within the UK/EU to the key customer locations
