Serv., Mot Purpose of Job To be responsible for the technical delivery of systems within powertrain programmes and for major engine design programmes, including 'clean sheet' programmes to clients Duties This is a combined role where the successful candidate will spend approximately 75% of their time in a Design Leader role and the remaining 25% spent as a Technical Specialist covering one of the following areas of base engine or vehicle systems: Short Engine Lube Systems and cam drive Cylinder head systems Intake and exhaust Accessory drives and cooling systems EMS and emissions systems Quantitative aspects Number of employees responsible for - up to 5 Department budget £TBCk- Other Qualifications A minimum of an HNC/Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Production or Aerospace Engineering is preferred Alternatively an Apprenticeship served in Mechanical Engineering or postgraduate workshop experience together with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Powertrain Design, with previous responsibility for large Powertrain subsystems is acceptable Skills and Experience A minimum of 5 years' experience in Powertrain Design, with previous responsibility for large Powertrain systems and subsystems Good level of base engine knowledge is essential Experience of major CAD systems such as Catia V5/6, UGNX and/ or PTC CREO Team worker with good communication skills and a sense of humour, showing proven experience in a design leader role Ideally be enthusiastic and creative, while utilising good organisational and planning skills Experience of Microsoft Office is desirable Competencies Team work Effective verbal and written communication skills Responsible attitude towards work and colleagues Trustworthy, enthusiastic and creative Do you have any questions?
