Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Student Support Administrator to join our Careers and World of Work team at our Cambridge Campus. You will join us on a full time (37 hours), full year basis to support students and prospective students. In return, you will receive a salary of £24,577 per annum, plus staff benefits. About the role: As first point of contact for students, staff and visitors to our Student Services Hub, you will provide a warm welcome and support to help users access relevant services. You will communicate and collaborate with all Student Services teams to triage student needs, provide initial information and signposting to ensure student needs are met. You will work especially closely with the Careers & World of Work team to provide initial course information for students and prospective students in person, via telephone and email. You will enjoy a variety of administration tasks in a customer service environment, including booking appointments, responding to enquiries and working flexibly to prioritise support for students. You will be a confident IT user with attention to detail when recording data. Primary duties include: -Providing high quality customer service for students, prospective students and visitors. -Ensuring a consistent presence at the customer service desk, meeting and greeting all students entering The Hub to ensure they receive appropriate triage and excellent student service. -Providing initial information and signposting for students on a range of topics, including course information and financial support options. -Coordinating a centralised diary and booking system, including booking appointments and greeting visitors. -Signing students in and out of college in accordance with procedure. -Supporting the Careers & World of Work teams by monitoring inboxes, booking careers appointments and providing initial information and advice for students and prospective students via email, telephone and in person. -Keeping accurate records of interactions with students and customers on electronic systems, in accordance with process. -Working collaboratively to identify customer needs and refer to relevant services. This role is based at Cambridge campus. There may be occasional need to travel to Huntingdon for training days or to support with open days and events. What we are looking for in our role: The successful applicant will have: -Excellent customer service skills. -Effective verbal and written communication skills. -A thorough approach to interpreting student/customer need and initiative to problem solve queries. -Ability to establish rapport and work with young people, who may be vulnerable / disadvantaged, with understanding and patience. -Ability to record and administer data accurately. -A collaborative approach, with flexibility to adapt tasks in response to needs of the team and students. -A good understanding of GDPR and relevant procedures to keep information secure. -A good understanding of safeguarding and responsibilities when supporting young people and vulnerable adults. To apply, you must have: -A welcoming demeanour and ability to communicate patiently and sensitively with a range of people with diverse needs. -Experience of working in an administration or customer service role. -Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent). -Confidence using Office packages, emails and systems to record data.
