The Paediatric Assessment Unit are recruiting a Paediatric Clinical Educator .We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic, and passionate individual with a desire to develop the workforce of the future and provide high quality and safe care.
Paediatric Assessment Unit is a fast paced unit admitting children all ages and conditions from General medicine, rheumatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, respiratory, neurology, dermatology, mental health and Surgery. PAU also cares for High dependency patients through out the year.Most of these admissions come from ED and CDU, but we do take transfers from other hospitals and out patients.
Main duties of the job
To provide and supervise clinical practice, education and development of the nursing workforce. This is a clinical role and you will spend most of your working day working in the clinical setting alongside Newley qualified nurses, new starters, student nurses and clinical support workers.
This post will support the delivery of the education service for staff working within the Paediatric assessment Unitto ensure that there is high quality care provided for this patient group. You will act as a positive role model and an expert resource demonstrating high standards of care and clinical expertise.

* Recognised Teaching and assessing/mentoring qualification
* Evidence of continuous professional development

* Degree in health care related subject
* Post Graduate Certificate in Education (HE) or working towards

Experience

* Evidence of Band 6 management experience in an area caring for general paediatric and respiratory patients
* Evidence of assessment, appraisal and supervisory skill and able to supervise staff at Bands 2-6
* Ability to work flexibly in the clinical environment to support staff development and service need when required
* Evidence of working at band 6 level
* APLS/EPLS/PILS trained
