The Assistant Tax Manager will support the Group Tax Manager in ensuring the Group's compliance with tax obligations, including corporation tax, employment tax, and VAT.
Working closely with our Belfast-based Public Sector Clients Group Tax Manager, the successful candidate will gain exposure to various areas, including:
1. Capital allowances claims specific to the water industry
2. Corporate loss relief restrictions and tax planning
3. Employment tax calculations and submissions
4. VAT compliance and advisory work
5. Corporate projects, such as new system implementations
6. HMRC enquiries

Candidates must demonstrate technical tax knowledge prior to interview.

* Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Tax
* or qualified member of the Association of Tax Technicians with at least 2 years post-qualification experience
* or qualified member of a recognized Accountancy body with at least 5 years' UK tax experience
and
* Strong technical knowledge in at least two of the following taxes: corporation tax, VAT, income tax, capital gains tax
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel within a finance environment
* Experience with Oracle or other large financial systems
* Experience with OneSource corporate tax software
* Experience preparing Group VAT returns
