Main duties of the job
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours
Contract: Permanent
As a Specialist Rotational Pharmacist, you will:
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on prescribing decisions.
* Undertake rotations in Oncology/Haematology, frailty and older person care, Urgent and Emergency Services, and other clinical areas.
* Monitor prescriptions and develop patient-centred pharmaceutical care plans.
* Ensure seamless pharmaceutical care through accurate drug histories and discharge planning.
* Actively contribute to medicines safety and quality improvement initiatives.
* Mentor and train other pharmacy and healthcare professionals.
* Participate in education and health promotion activities.
* Represent pharmacy in Trust meetings.
* Contribute to a weekday service with some weekend and on-call duties (home-based with initial screening).
* Develop leadership and management skills.
* Support medicines safety including investigating medicines safety incidents.
* Provide line management support to pharmacy team members.
* Provide education and health promotion to patients and the public.
* Actively involved in training and development of other health care professionals.
* Actively support medicines safety including supporting the investigation of medicines safety incidents.
Qualifications
* Master of Pharmacy.
* Current listing on the Pharmacist Register with the GPhC.
* Diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent experience.
* Completed general level framework competency training.

* Able to interpret complex clinical data.
* Able to negotiate with other healthcare professionals in relation to pharmaceutical care of patients.
* Able to perform accurate and complex calculations.
* Problem solving and decision making skills.
* Ability to work effectively with senior clinical personnel.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Experience
* Significant clinical pharmacy knowledge and experience.
* Significant experience of working in hospital pharmacy.
* Significant experience of working in a pharmaceutical environment. Knowledge of national guidelines relating to medicines and pharmaceutical practice.
* Specialist knowledge and experience in clinical speciality.
£49,387 to £56,515 a year Negotiable based on your experience.
