Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a part time Progression Coach (Outreach), to work in the Cheshire West & Chester areas. The floating support service provides support to young people aged 15-19, to prepare for and transition in to independent living in their own tenancy. The successful candidate will be required to work 18.75 hours per week (3 days), working across Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2-3 months. The pay rate for this role is £12.38 per hour, with £1.49 holiday pay, totalling £13.87 per hour. Please note: you will be required to work across the Cheshire West and Chester areas supporting young people in their accommodation and out in the community. In this position, you will be expected to; * Hold a caseload of 6 - 12 young people and conduct weekly key working sessions resulting in holistic and strengths-based support plans and a tailored programme of support * Support young people to prepare for independent living and develop necessary skills * Where young people have moved in to accommodation, provide support through a programme of regular visits, which may include support and advice or more structured life-skills training as required * Work closely with the social workers and the Leaving Care Team, local organisations, statutory services and support agencies to gain the best possible outcomes for young people * Help young people to apply for benefits, complete relevant application forms, train to learn budgeting skills and managing money, including support to prioritise and pay bills and rent * Actively support young people to stay in or enter suitable education, employment and training * Support young people to access and liaise with health services, including mental health services, drug and alcohol support services and counselling referrals * Understand and support young people using a trauma-informed approach, awareness and understanding of adverse childhood approaches and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) * Create a package of support around the young person, signposting and making onward referrals for specialized support where appropriate. * Establish and build links with housing providers in order to maximise the alternatives available to young people and work closely with social care partners Please note; this role involves lone working. To apply for this role, you must have; * Experience of working with young people who may have complex needs such as mental health issues, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic abuse and offending behaviour * Experience of helping young people with setting up benefits, developing independent living skills and maintaining their accommodation * Ability and commitment to work as part of a multi-agency team to ensure young people in care and who are leaving care, achieve the best possible outcomes * A clear understanding and ability to implement risk management, information sharing and data security arrangements. * Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and professional boundaries when working with young people * Ability to promote and implement diversity practice and policies and treat colleagues and clients fairly and with respect. * Ability to use IT to a level which will enable high quality reporting to be carried out. This should include an ability to use data capture systems including running queries and reports. * Have access to own transport Candidates should confirm their interest as soon as possible, with interviews scheduled shortly after and the appointed candidate expected to start as soon as possible.
