Our client is searching for Mortuary Manager to lead a specialist mortuary service supporting one of the UK's foremost cancer centres. You will be providing expert technical leadership to anatomical pathology staff. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, calm professional judgement, and the ability to deliver a compassionate, high‑quality service within a highly specialised cancer environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. You will be responsible for ensuring deceased patients are correctly identified and that bodies are treated with dignity and respect including cultural and religious considerations.
2. You will ensure that the deceased bodies are well cared for prior to occasional viewing by families and hand over to funeral directors including being responsible for documentation relating to funeral directors, coroner's staff, medical professionals and the external supplier of post mortem services.
Essential Qualifications:
We are looking for a Mortuary Manager with:
3. Lead the day‑to‑day running of the mortuary across both sites, ensuring safe, efficient and dignified care of the deceased at all times.
4. Manage, supervise and develop anatomical pathology technologists and support staff, including training, appraisals and competency assessments.
5. Oversee arrangements for hospital and coronial post‑mortems, ensuring timely scheduling, correct documentation and liaison with pathologists.
6. Full UK right to work
