LOCATION: Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe Hours: 30 hours per week PAY RATE: £14.39 per hour Main Duties & Responsibilities: · Conduct your duties as instructed by the Team Leader for that day. You do not have the authority to change your own, or any other operative’s duty for the day. This is a management task. · When on the shop floor, make sure that you are looking everywhere, this means looking up and checking for cowebs and wiping over all equipment as you pass them, this includes the benches, mobile phone charging units, advertising screens and advertising boxes for the stores. · At the end of your shift, you must clean your trolley down so it’s ready for the next operative. This includes putting any used mops and cloths on to be washed. · Do not concern yourself with what any other operative is doing – it is not your place to make a comment on what they are doing or how they are doing it. If you have any genuine concern, you are to request a meeting with your line management team and it will be dealt with properly. We will not tolerate any complaining about your colleagues as it is impacting the team dynamic. · Many operatives are taking advantage of break times and are adding several minutes on without authorisation. Your breaks are designated by the Team Leaders and must be adhered to. If you start your break later than told you, you will still be expected to return on time as per the Team Leader’s schedule. The only exceptions will be when dealing with a large spillage or incident. Any additional time taken on a break will result in monies being deducted. · You are able to enter the Blue Corridor 20 minutes prior to your shift ending – this is in understanding that this time will be used to fully clean your trolley down and deal with any dirty cloths/mops. When starting your shift, you are expected to be on the shop floor no later than 15 minutes past your start time. This gives you plenty of time to prep for your shift. · Ensure you carry a Dyster whilst on shift and hit the points as you go along. You must also complete Spillage Logs and the Toilet Check sheets when you are stationed in them. Give all spillage log sheets to Customer Services at the end of your shift so they can log it down. · You are expected to look presentable when on shift. Your uniform must be clean and tidy and you must wear the correct safety shoes unless you provide us with a Doctor’s note stating otherwise. Trousers to be secured with a belt if too loose and t-shirts/jumpers to cover the stomach fully. · COSHH sheets, Risk Assessments and Toolbox talks to be read annually and signed off. Failure to comply with the above will result in disciplinary action. The first stage will be a file note, followed by an investigation and then disciplinary if necessary.
