* Play a pivotal role by partnering with the executive leads of our Coutts Private and Coutts Wealth businesses as a trusted strategic advisor, shaping the commercial direction and long-term value creation for Coutts’ client coverage teams
* Develop, shape, and influence the strategic direction of these customer businesses and provide high-quality strategic financial advice and insight to drive decision-making
* Influence sustainable growth and client outcomes by overseeing the establishment of performance and sales effectiveness tracking to guide how the business grows and improve its client offering
What you'll do
This senior Strategic Finance Partner role will support Coutts Private and Coutts Wealth and Performance Management, operating at executive level with regular exposure to Group Finance and the wider NatWest Group leadership. Your responsibilities include working closely with executive leads to achieve their strategic goals, acting as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior stakeholders and the wider business through robust challenge and insight to influence significant commercial and strategic decisions.
Moreover, you’ll provide strategic and expert advice supported by clear financial plans, forecasts, stress testing, and customer, market or segment analysis, working in close collaboration with the wider Finance function and the business. You’ll also proactively shape key performance across income generation, customer value, product proposition, and P&L and cost management while delivering critical review and constructive challenge to ensure optimal use of resources across investment decisions and business cases.
You’ll also:
* Establish a central performance management capability within the Finance team, with accountability for delivering the performance and sales insights required to manage the business effectively
* Oversee business-partnering activities, including product overlays for planning, forecasting, and stress-testing scenarios
* Drive all business finance requirements, including month-end processes, strategic planning, functional reporting, and the timely escalation of risks and issues
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with significant experience operating as a senior finance leader at executive level within private banking or wealth management, with a proven track record of influencing senior business partners and shaping strategy in complex, regulated environments. To succeed in this role, you’ll also need to bring strong personal credibility, sound judgement, and resilience, enabling you to operate effectively in high‐stakes, ambiguous situations where commercial, client, and risk considerations must be balanced at pace.
In addition, you must demonstrate strong finance functional knowledge and accounting expertise, alongside a deep understanding of product area and market segment, including proven capability in P&L leadership, investment decision-making, and performance management.
Furthermore, you’ll need to have:
* 15+of experience in finance across private banking or wealth management, including relevant qualifications
* The ability to provoke and lead strategic change within senior executive teams
* The ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of finance professionals
