The Team
Our team specialises in a comprehensive range of wet and dry shipping and related trade services for clients across the maritime sector including domestic and international disputes. The team deals with all issues arising out of the interaction between ship, port and cargo interests. From claims relating to collisions, unsafe ports, pollution and environmental incidents, bailment and goods in transit to fatal accidents, Health & Safety Executive and Maritime and Coastguard Agency intervention, slippers and trippers. Our clients include Ship Owners, Corporates, P& I Club(s), Charterers, Shipyards, Port & Terminal Operators, Underwriters, Traders and Marine insurers/re-insurers.
We carry out a broad range of both contentious and non-contentious work.
Essential Skills & Experience
* An undergraduate law degree or equivalent.
* Previous experience and knowledge within civil litigation and procedure is desirable.
* Knowledge of insurance and shipping would benefit the successful post holder.
* Experience of handling own caseload is required for this role.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to handle high volumes of work.
* The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast-paced environment.
* A professional manner with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
