The Partner Office Partner Tax team is seeking an Associate to join on a permanent basis, with supported study towards ATT and CTA qualifications available. The team manages the tax affairs of around 1,100 partners, and the role is focused on preparing annual tax returns, responding to a wide range of tax queries (including income tax, capital gains tax and financial reviews), calculating and managing tax reserves, arranging payments to HMRC and completing reconciliations. This position suits someone detail‑focused, organised, numerate and confident communicating with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Prepare annual tax returns for partners and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
* Respond to a wide range of tax queries, including income tax, capital gains tax and financial reviews.
* Calculate and manage tax reserves, arrange payments to HMRC and complete reconciliations.
* Prepare partners’ personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all tax data.
* Collate and present supporting information for review by senior team members.
* Manage workload and priorities effectively, monitoring progress against deadlines.
* Maintain accurate records and provide administrative support to contribute to effective team delivery.
Qualifications
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to work accurately with financial and tax data.
* Clear and confident communicator, able to respond professionally to partner queries verbally and in writing.
* Strong IT capability, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) and AI tools such as Copilot.
* Demonstrates integrity, with a strong awareness of confidentiality and risk management requirements.
