Social Worker - Substance Misuse Social Work Team, Bridgend County Borough Council
We are seeking a full-time qualified Social Worker for the Bridgend Substance Misuse Social Work Team.
Responsibilities
* Provide a timely social work response to adults who live with substance or alcohol misuse and who may also have a co-existing condition such as poor mental health.
* Use the principles of Motivational Interviewing to deliver strengths-based, outcome-focused assessments and interventions.
* Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide a social work service, including assessment and care planning, that promotes the independence and wellbeing of individuals, their families, and carers, focusing on what matters to people.
* Where practicable, focus on prevention and self-management, enabling individuals to sustain independence through assessment, care and support and other practical interventions.
* Collaborate with health colleagues within the wider Community Drugs and Alcohol Team.
* Actively promote the council’s person-centred, strengths-based and outcome-focused social work practice model.
Qualifications and requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with appropriate professional registration.
* Experience in substance misuse or related field is desirable.
* Enhanced DBS check withAdults Barred list is a requirement for this post.
* Valid driving licence is a requirement for this post.
* Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post, providing a framework for working hours between home and office.
