Mechanical Engineer (Workshop) - January Start
Location: Burton upon Trent
Rate: £35–£38 per hour (Outside IR35)
Contract: 3-month initial contract (Days, starting January)

Mason James Appointments is partnered with an industry-leading FMCG / Food Manufacturing business based in Burton upon Trent.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the team on a days-based contract role, working primarily in the onsite workshop.
This position will focus on repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, pipework and associated systems. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and supporting ongoing production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance on pumps, valves, and pipework.
*
Fault-find and service mechanical systems and components.
*
Support workshop activities and refurbishment of mechanical assemblies.
*
Work to high standards of safety, hygiene, and quality in a food/FMCG environment.
Skills & Experience
*
Strong mechanical engineering background - workshop or maintenance-based.
*
Proven experience with pumps, valves, and general pipework systems.
*
Experience within Food, FMCG, or Packaging environments is essential.
*
Hands-on, mechanically minded, and able to work independently.
*
Able to start in January.
