A housing association based in Norfolk is recruiting a Head of Finance on an interim basis for 3 – 6 months.
The rate for this role would range between £700 - £800 per day inside IR35 and will be offered hybrid with a minimum office attendance of 2 days per week. Parking is available and they are a short walk from the main train station.
The ideal candidate would to be able to hit the ground running, leading financial strategy and governance. This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring long-term financial sustainability, optimising resources, and enabling growth and investment across vital services.
Main responsibilities
* Lead the development and delivery of financial strategies aligned with the organisation's long-term goals.
* Manage liquidity, funding, and investment strategies, ensuring strong lender relationships and covenant compliance.
* Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting—providing insight that drives performance and value for money.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations (e.g. FRS 102, RSH) and maintain robust internal controls.
* Act as a key liaison with auditors, funders, pension providers, and external advisers.
* Deputise for the Chief Finance & Transformation Officer (CFTO) when required.
* Inspire and lead a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
* Proven experience leading multi-functional teams across finance and procurement.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex financial challenges.
* Excellent communication skills—able to present financial insight clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
* Experience in the housing, public, or not-for-profit sector is desirable but not essential.
