We are currently seeking an experienced Trade Control Specialist to join our dynamic Global Trade Control (GTC) team, focused on the Defence business in the UK, but part of a larger group covering the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of UK and US export controls, practical application experience, and the ability to guide defence programs and departments on compliance. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for effectively conveying complex legislation to diverse audiences.

Boeing’s defence business involves various programs, sites, and dealings with FMS and DCS contracts, playing a critical role with the UK MOD. This role can be based at RAF Lossiemouth or the Bristol Office.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Analyzing and implementing infrastructure for US ITAR/EAR controls and UK trade control requirements; developing dynamic solutions to meet compliance and customer needs.
2. Partnering with GTC in the US to embed trade control requirements into program processes, ensuring operational compliance and maintaining oversight through relationship-building.
3. Supporting UK defence teams to ensure adherence to corporate guidelines, authorizations, and requirements.
4. Developing strategies for authorizations and compliance in coordination with GTC US.
5. Managing UK export licenses and collaborating with security for MOD approvals.
6. Operating within complex compliance infrastructures involving US and non-US exports, imports, FMS, DCS, and customs.
7. Providing regulatory guidance, fostering a compliance culture, and interpreting regulations impacting programs.
8. Supporting audits, implementing corrective actions, and tracking compliance issues.
9. Communicating updates, assessing risks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Generating reports, metrics, and procedures; delivering training and briefings.
11. Having knowledge of UK HMRC regulations and awareness of AUKUS is beneficial.
12. Being proactive in trade law developments, self-motivated, team-oriented, and attentive to priorities and improvements.

Basic Qualifications:
* Experience with UK and US Regulations, including UK Export Controls, ITAR, and EAR.
* Education and experience typically through a Bachelor's degree or higher in Legal, Policy, Supply Chain, Political Science, or related fields.
