We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Project & Turnaround Engineer to support the safe, efficient and cost‑effective delivery of brownfield projects and turnarounds across the OneGas West asset. The role will directly contribute to maintaining asset integrity, improving reliability, and ensuring seamless execution of project and TAR scopes in line with Shell standards, UK regulatory expectations, and OGW performance goals. This position requires strong cross‑functional engagement, supporting stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, HSSE, Supply Chain and EPC partners to ensure readiness, disciplined delivery, and predictable outcomes across this late‑life asset. Leadership Provide engineering leadership in planning and executing small–medium projects and TAR scopes across Bacton Terminal and offshore facilities Champion HSSE excellence, embedding Goal Zero behaviours throughout all project and TAR activities Support continuous improvement through strong communication, coordination, and effective management of interfaces across multi‑discipline teams Mentor and guide contractors and junior engineering staff, ensuring high technical standards and professional development Promote collaboration and alignment with asset teams to ensure high‑quality project definition and readiness What we need from you Accountabilities Deliver end‑to‑end engineering support for brownfield projects, modifications and TAR workpacks to meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements Develop and maintain integrated project and TAR schedules in line with OGW priorities Prepare engineering deliverables, including scope documents, cost estimates, risk assessments, MoC submissions and technical queries Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance and HSSE to ensure safe execution, strong risk ownership, and minimal operational disruption Support TAR preparation activities including work listing, constructability reviews, materials readiness and contractor engagement Assist in monitoring contractor performance, ensuring compliance with HSSE expectations and technical standards Drive lessons learned, continuous improvement and standardisation of processes across the Projects & TAR function. Ensure regulatory compliance (NSTA, HSE, Safety Case) across assigned scopes Support simplification initiatives to deliver fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions across the asset What you bring Education Degree in Engineering or related scientific discipline Chartership or working toward professional accreditation preferred Experience Experience in onshore/offshore project engineering or TAR preparation within oil & gas or industrial facilities Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑discipline interfaces and deliver engineering scopes in live operating environments Working knowledge of brownfield engineering, construction readiness, risk assessment, and management of change Experience in producing schedules, cost estimates, and technical work packs Personal Characteristics Strong communicator with the ability to work across diverse teams and demanding workloads Visible HSSE leader with a proactive approach to safety and operational discipline Organised, detail‑focused and capable of prioritising effectively Commercially aware with a mindset of “spend it like your own” Self‑starter who takes ownership, learns quickly and seeks continuous improvement Certifications Project management training (APM, PMP or equivalent) beneficial Offshore medical and survival certification may be required depending on assignment What we offer You bring your skills and experience to Shell and in return you work with talented, committed people on one of the most important challenges facing our planet.
