We have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join our team within Vistry London Division, at our Brentwood office. As our Estimator, you will work as part of the wider Estimating team and be responsible for providing an estimating service including the preparation of development budgets, this will range from bid stage to final settlements (Budgetary Controls). The conclusion of the budgetary control document forms the handover to the Quantity Surveying and Buying teams. The candidate should have sufficient experience of working on both development and D&B led opportunities and will have the ability of working with a minimum amount of supervision.

In advance of a bid submission, you will prepare development budgets for the Land and new business Manager to evaluate viability for the scheme.
Update construction budgets on a regular basis including the following key stages, post RIBA Stage 2, Post RIBA Stage 3, Pre Planning Submission, Planning Approval and at any other point following changes to the scheme.
Support Head of Estimating with Production Forecast Updates.
You will be responsible for providing budgetary framework to assist the Surveyors/Buyers in their financial control of the development post start on site.
Evaluate risks and cost of construction abnormals, discussing, reviewing & adjusting costs associated with specifications alongside the relevant departments prior to finalisation of the budget.
Work closely with planning team to ensure budget functions and position is maintained throughout the estimating process.
Review Planning conditions and ensure budget reflects same.
Take guidance from New Business / Development lead in respect of S106 costs for inclusion within budget.
Liaise with Architects/Design Engineers on matters of preliminary Design and Engineering solutions
Liaising with the team to identify value engineering solutions for the team to consider, along with ensuring design proposals align with the current cost assumptions.
Completion of project CSA and pricing the prepared documentation.
Provide any supporting information for the tender submission.
Provide input into post tender clarifications and negotiations.
Attendance at bid launch, LOS planning stages, settlement / handover, and all design team meetings.
Attend Estimating Meetings.
Lead on communication with our supply chain.
Prepares Subcontractor enquiry documentation for tender purposes.
Undertaking subcontractor and material supplier quotation analysis, ensuring compliance and competitiveness.
Co-ordinates the preparation of Bills of Quantities including specifications, drawing and schedules etc for analytical pricing.
Co-ordinates with the Buying Department for material price updates.
Liaises with surveyors and buyers during contract period to provide advice / information and to receive feedback as necessary.
Internal take off and measurement utilising Bluebeam software.
