Job Description
Description
The European Union (EU) Distressed Products trading desk (DPG) is the leading distressed franchise in Europe. It focuses on making markets, carrying inventory to meet client demand, and special situation financing across a number of products issued by stressed or distressed issuers or issuers in stressed or distressed industries. DPG typically trades with large institutional investors. Products traded include public and private corporate bonds (including convertible bonds), loans, private equity, options, warrants, restructured proceeds, trade and liquidation claims, and non-performing loan portfolios.
Typical situations the group specialises in include deterioration in the credit quality of an issuer or industry; bankruptcies and liquidations; out-of-court financial restructurings (debt-to-debt and debt-to-equity exchanges); and debt or equity rescue or special situation financing.
This role involves being an integral part of the DPG investment process, working closely with Traders, Credit Analysts, Desk Origination, and Institutional Client Group (ICG) sales, sitting on the trading floor.
