Role Purpose
Are you looking for a dynamic role where your technical skills will make a real impact? This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the School Technician Leadership Team and play a vital role in the provision of high-quality support to teaching and learning across our schools.
This is a key role providing expertise and support to school technical departments and involves guiding the day-to-day operation of technical technicians in schools. Working as part of the Technician Leadership Team the main role of the Senior Technical Technician will be the inspection and maintenance of technical and science equipment across nine secondary schools, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
A vehicle will be provided as part of this role. This role works alongside the Senior Science Technician to support and promote best practice whilst acting as an interface with technicians and schools on new developments and the co-ordination of technician and teacher training.
Essential
SVQ or equivalent qualification in mechanical maintenance or equivalent experience
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
