Job title: Learning Support assistant Year 1 - hiring multiple candidates!
Location: Gosport, Hampshire.
Contract: Permanent, part time - 25 hours a week.
Salary: Grade B pro-rata (£24,027 – £24,348 FTE).
Ofsted: Good.
Interview Week: Commencing 22nd September 2025.
We have two positions available:
* A class-based LSA.
* An LSA supporting a pupil with communication needs on a 1:1 basis.
About the school:
We are seeking enthusiastic, adaptable, and patient Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team in a Year 1 class. Their school values confidence, showing kindness and to explore and discover the world around us.
Ofsted wrote: ‘Pupils enjoy coming to school. They show pride in their work and interest in learning. Pupils find teachers to be kind and supportive. Pupils know that staff expect them to work hard and do their best.’
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
* Is kind, calm, and communicates effectively
* Uses positive strategies to encourage and support children’s learning
* Is reflective, proactive, and eager to grow professionally
* Demonstrates resilience and a genuine passion for working with children
* Works collaboratively with teachers and staff to achieve the best outcomes
* Understands complex behaviours and how to support them
* Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English and is confident using a computer
