TRS are seeking a reliable and proactive Construction Operative – Site Logistics & Traffic Coordination to support a live 3CR construction project in Royston. This is a key site‑based role responsible for managing the safe and efficient flow of traffic, materials, and personnel at the site entrance and surrounding areas. While not a traditional engineering role, the position plays a critical function in maintaining operational continuity, site safety, and logistical efficiency.
Site Logistics Coordination
* Support day‑to‑day site logistics operations
* Ensure smooth movement of vehicles, plant, and personnel
* Act as a key point of contact at the site entrance
* Control and direct incoming and outgoing site traffic
* Coordinate delivery schedules and vehicle access
* Assist with implementation of traffic management plans
Parking Management
* Oversee on‑site and adjacent parking arrangements
* Ensure compliance with site parking rules and capacity limits
* Prevent congestion and maintain safe access routes
Material Delivery Supervision
* Receive and manage deliveries at the gate
* Verify delivery documentation and direct vehicles appropriately
* Liaise with site teams to ensure efficient offloading
Waste Control Support
* Assist with coordination of waste collection and disposal
* Monitor waste movements and ensure compliance with site processes
* Maintain organised and accessible waste handling areas
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience working on a construction site in a similar role (e.g. traffic marshal, gate operative, logistics operative, site security)
* Traffic Management / Traffic Marshal (Banksman) certification
* Strong awareness of health & safety practices
* Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with drivers, contractors, and site teams
* Proactive and organised, with good situational awareness
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, live construction environment
* Experience in site logistics or construction coordination roles
* Background in site‑based security with logistics exposure
