We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior/Lead Developer for a 12 month FTC specializing in SQL, optionally but highly valued Python, to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of technologies and projects, from writing and optimizing Oracle SQL queries to SSIS ETL jobs to developing cloud-based solutions using the Serverless Framework. You’ll be responsible for leading technical projects, mentoring colleagues, and role modelling best practices in software development. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders to create innovative, high-quality solutions that meet our business needs.
As a Senior/Lead Developer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the team toward continuous improvement and delivering robust software solutions that support our organization’s objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Lead on projects, overseeing technical design, development, and delivery.
2. Mentor colleagues, providing guidance on best practices and supporting their professional growth.
3. Create and maintain software design documents, ensuring clear communication of architectural decisions and design patterns.
4. Write and optimize Oracle SQL queries, ensuring efficient data manipulation and reporting.
5. Maintain SSIS Solutions.
6. Work with source control (Git), managing versioning, branching, and merging strategies across the development lifecycle.
7. Design and implement cloud-based solutions using the Serverless Framework, leveraging modern cloud technologies (desired).
8. Integrate with third-party APIs, ensuring smooth communication between internal and external systems (desired)..
9. Work with XSLT and FOP for document transformations and formatting (desired).
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including testers, analysts, and other developers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
11. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for technical and process enhancements.
Skills and requirements

12. Strong experience in Oracle SQL development.
13. Strong experience in SSIS.
14. Proficiency in working with source control (Git) and managing development workflows.
15. Experience with cloud development using the Serverless Framework or similar (desired).

17. Experience with SSRS for data reporting.
18. Experience in working with third-party APIs, ensuring reliable integration and data exchange.

You are a seasoned software developer with a strong foundation in Python and SQL, passionate about delivering scalable, high-quality solutions. You take pride in your technical expertise, particularly in writing optimized Oracle SQL queries and designing cloud-based applications using the Serverless Framework. You have a knack for solving complex problems and translating business needs into technical solutions.
As a leader, you enjoy mentoring and guiding junior colleagues, helping them grow in their roles while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. You are confident leading on projects, making architectural decisions, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You are comfortable working with a variety of tools and technologies, including Git for source control, third-party APIs for integration, and SSIS/SSRS for data management and reporting. Familiarity with XSLT and FOP would be a plus. You stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices, and you are always looking for ways to improve both your own skills and the processes within your team.
