Occupational Safety Advisor - Scotland
Location: Highlands of Scotland (Hybrid - 3 days on site / 2 days remote)
Working Week: 40 hours
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: 6 months + potential extension
Rate: £550-£575 per day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
Eligibility: Full UK working rights required
About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and highly skilled Occupational Safety Advisor to join a major infrastructure project in the Highlands. This is an opportunity to make a real impact by shaping safety culture and ensuring the highest standards across a complex, high-profile environment.
You'll be the go-to expert for safety advice, working closely with project teams and contractors to deliver a safe, compliant, and collaborative worksite. If you thrive on influencing positive change and enjoy working in dynamic environments, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Provide practical, professional safety guidance to project and site teams.
Monitor compliance with CDM Regulations and engage with contractors to achieve an incident-free project.
Review and develop safety documentation for clients, designers, and contractors to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Participate in risk assessments, inspections, incident investigations, and safety campaigns.
Champion a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement across all areas.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in occupational safety within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, especially CDM Regulations 2015.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and ideally IOSH membership.
Exceptional communication skills and a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving.
Valid UK driving licence (due to travel requirements).
