ADVERT FOR General Manager, Operations Salary £55-60k per annum. Inner City Trust was established in 1976 in the city of Derry. The Trusts mission is to advance the physical, social and economic regeneration of the Derrry-Londonderry. As a not-for-private profit group, we support communities, restore heritage buildings and enable job creation. The Trust has developed some of the most landmark buildings in the city including the Tower Museum, the Tower Hotel, the Bishops Gate Hotel, the Shared Future Centre and the Calgagh Centre. Our Fashion and Textile Centre is building on the shirt manufacturing and textile expertise for which the city was renowned. Shared public space is central to our mission and the Craft Village, Garden of Reflection and its gallery host events and provide a platform for small businesses. The Trust retains an extensive property portfolio (residential and commercial) which forms its principal Core activity. This portfolio extends beyond the Walled City and includes several developments in the Waterside. We are seeking to recruit a General Manager to oversee the operations of the organisation .The General Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of all operational aspects of the organisation.The General Manager will have complete oversight of the Core activities of the Trust in respect of its property portfolio and will have the opportunity to be involved in the project management of major capital building projects both ongoing and new. He/she will lead a small team of dedicated staff and be accountable and responsible for the effective management and administration of the systems in place to ensure the Board meets its statutory obligations vis a vis governance; financial stewardship, compliance, building inspections, health & safety, risk assessment and cyclical and preventative maintenance programmes.The General manager will be required to build upon the success of the Trust in securing and maximizing valued property assets and fulfilling the Trusts core objectives. The General Manager will support the Board in developing its strategic agenda and in building and nurturing relationships within related Public, Governmental and private sector entities. Candidates MUST have: A completed degree in a relevant discipline eg Business Administration or Building management studies: and a minimum of 3 years experience working in the management of capital/project development, including min of 2 years managing people OR a minimum of 5 years working at a senior project management level in building project management, including minimum 2 years managing people POST: GENERAL MANAGER FOR OPERATIONS NB This is a permanent position however consideration may be given to a Secondment for a minimum period of 3 years where the applicants current employer is supportive.
