Your new role
As the Finance Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the finance function across purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking and month‑end duties. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting in purchase ledger including matching, posting and reconciling purchase invoices
2. Managing credit notes
3. Handling supplier account queries
4. Reconciling supplier statements
5. Preparing and issuing sales invoices
6. Managing daily customer queries
7. Supporting credit control with outstanding issues
8. Performing daily bank reconciliations
9. Processing staff expenses
10. Managing payment runs and the direct debit system
11. Assisting with accruals, prepayments and month-end tasks
12. Managing the shared finance mailbox
13. Providing timely updates to senior managers
14. Supporting wider finance operations as required
What you'll need to succeed
15. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role
16. Strong attention to detail and high‑quality work standards
17. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
18. Good working knowledge of finance processes
19. Confidentmunication skills and a team‑focused attitude
20. Excellent time management and organisational skills
21. A proactive, ambitious and positive approach to work
