Tradewind Recruitment is working with a high‑achieving and supportive secondary school in Barnet that is seeking a dedicated Science Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full‑time, long‑term position (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm) with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates with a background in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics who want to develop their classroom experience and make a real difference in students' learning.
About the Role
* Support students in Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially A‑Level.
* Work closely with Science teachers to deliver engaging, hands‑on learning experiences.
* Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students who may need help understanding key concepts.
* Help prepare practical resources and materials for experiments and lessons.
* Encourage students' curiosity and confidence in Science.
* Support practical lessons, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
What We're Looking For
* A recent Science graduate (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field).
* A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
