Non-Medical Prescriber
Salary: £43,060‑£52,580 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Contract: Permanent.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced Non‑Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join our clinical team in Sandwell. The successful candidate will have an in‑depth knowledge of the issues affecting people with substance misuse and alcohol complexities and will be driven by safe practice, compassion and a desire to help people become healthier and well. This position requires a qualified nurse or advanced clinical practitioner with appropriate and valid registration with either the NMC or GPHC and relevant experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide safe, high‑quality prescribing and clinical care to individuals with complex needs, including substance misuse and alcohol use.
* Apply a strong harm‑reduction approach and commit to delivering a caring, compassionate and safe ethos for service users.
* Keen understanding of general health issues affecting people who use drugs and alcohol, and the relevant legislation, safeguarding and clinical guidelines.
* Work with recovery principles in addictions, ITEP and NICE guidance on detoxification and stabilisation protocols.
* Demonstrate evidence‑based skills in ensuring care is specific to service users’ needs.
* Carry out prescribing work flexibly, including on‑site clinics, outreach and satellite locations across Sandwell.
* Be flexible in the approach and accommodate alternative treatment options or projects to meet service need.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, service users and external teams across the borough.
* Travel around the borough easily and adapt to a dynamic and responsive environment.
Qualifications
* Qualified nurse or advanced clinical practitioner with valid registration with the NMC or GPHC.
* Relevant experience working with people with complex needs, substance misuse and alcohol use.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation, and current clinical guidelines for the target population.
* Familiarity with ITEP and NICE guidance on detoxification and stabilisation protocols.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
* Non‑judgemental, inclusive attitude towards colleagues and service users.
* Subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
