Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Secondary School – Croydon
Pay: £110 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Long-term, Full-time
Start Date: Immediate Start
About the Role:
An excellent secondary school in Croydon is looking for a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment while playing a key role in delivering high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver lessons and learning activities to small groups or whole classes, as planned by the teacher.
* Provide targeted support to students with a range of academic and additional needs.
* Assist with classroom management and help maintain a positive learning environment.
* Work closely with teaching staff to support planning, assessment, and pupil progress.
* Cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher when required.
* Contribute to the wider school community and pastoral care of students.
Requirements:
* HLTA qualification or substantial experience in a similar role within a secondary school.
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
* A good understanding of the secondary curriculum.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
