Responsibilities
* To work as an integral member of the Breast Care Nursing Team, contributing to the delivery of a coordinated, high-quality, patient centred service across the breast care pathway.
* To contribute to the effective coordination of the patient pathway, ensuring timely communication of information, treatment plans, and results, and supporting the delivery of national cancer targets.
* To work collaboratively with colleagues across the MDT, including surgical, oncology, radiology, and allied health professionals, to ensure safe, seamless, and effective care delivery.
* To provide specialist advice and support to patients, families, and carers, enabling informed decision-making and promoting patient autonomy.
* To support the ongoing development of the Breast Care service through the application of evidence-based practice in line with national guidelines and local policies.
* To maintain accountability for clinical practice in accordance with the NMC Code and contribute to maintaining high standards of care within the clinical governance framework.
* To act as a resource and role model within the clinical area, supporting and advising nursing and wider clinical staff in the care and management of breast patients.
* To ensure effective communication with patients, carers, and all members of the MDT, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills at all times.
