We are looking for a full time Princes Trust Team Leader with experience of running the TEAM programme and taking responsibility for a team regarding student qualifications, welfare and safeguarding. We are seeking a dynamic individual who can work on their own initiative and problem solve in difficult situations. Ideally the correct candidate will have experience sourcing work experience placements, arranging residentials and keeping the high standards of quality regarding qualifications and delivery of the programme.
Main duties:
1. Recruit members for each Team in accordance with targets set and ensure required paperwork is completed. To undertake interviews and offer information, advice and guidance to students. For unemployed Team members this will involve liaison with Job Centres, Connexions, YOS, Probation, supported living accommodation and other appropriate organisations.
2. Develop and maintain a local database with up to date recruitment and referral opportunities.
3. To undertake course delivery and associated course development of assigned course, including planning of work placements and projects.
4. To undertake the monitoring and controlling of allocated areas of courses information and data including, where required, exam entry, accuracy, liaising with the awarding body and schemes of work.
5. To undertake the marking of students work and examinations and complete awarding body paperwork for course delivered on.
6. To prepare learning materials and student assessments/assignments, including on line materials.
7. Attend residential courses as and when required (minimum 3/year).
8. Guide and support Team members through the completion of their Individual Learning Records, including tracking and assessing.
9. Plan and carry out regular individual and Team reviews including the development of SMART individual action plans.
10. Liaise with community organisations and agencies to source, plan, prepare and supervise appropriate Team projects and individual work placements.
11. Set and enforce appropriate disciplinary procedures in accordance with East Durham College and Princes Trust policies, procedures and codes of conduct.
12. Maintain compliance with the Health and Safety policies of East Durham College at all times. Take responsibility for the health and safety of Team members and others under your supervision, ensuring written risk assessments are completed for each aspect of the Team programme prior to them taking place. Incidents and accidents to be recorded in a timely manner following East Durham College and Princes Trust Team procedures.
13. Responsible for the security and maintenance of the premises, vehicles and equipment allocated.
14. Responsible for keeping appropriate financial information and for working within an agreed budget, for a credit card, petty cash and community projects.
15. Ensure the completion of all records and administration associated with the programme within specified timeframes.
16. Attend East Durham College and Princes trust meetings and training days as required
17. Drive learners in a College mini-bus according to the requirements of the programme.
18. Provide Princes Trust and College with feedback on the performance of employed Team members after they have taken part in the programme (where applicable).
19. Work flexibly, including out of normal business hours if required.
20. To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults including actions to prevent radicalisation.
21. Act as a responsible adult role model at all times, including leadership and guidance to the Team members.
22. Any other duties commensurate with the salary and grade of the post, which may be assigned from time to time.
Essential Requirement:
1. Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent or willing to work towards within 12 months.
2. A level 4 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/DTLLS) or willing to work towards.
3. Minimum of Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area.
4. Experience of delivery of formal programs to learners.
5. Experience of working with challenging young people or NEET learners.
6. Experience of programme development.
