About the role
We are seeking an Information Governance Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. You will handle information rights requests and information security incidents, providing proactive, professional, and consistent advice on information governance.
This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week with a hybrid working arrangement: three days from our Oldham office and two days remote.
What we're looking for
Ideal candidates will have experience managing a diverse workload within a customer-focused environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
You should also be able to demonstrate:
1. Understanding and experience of interpreting all relevant information management legislation, regulation, and best practices (e.g., Data Protection Regulations, Information Rights), and their implications for organizations like Guinness.
2. Ability to challenge and influence through discussion and debate.
3. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage a varied workload to meet deadlines.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
5. Experience working in a customer-focused environment and managing stakeholder or customer expectations.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
7. Ability to multitask and work under conflicting priorities.
8. Capability to produce high-quality information, data, and reports.
9. Understanding of the Information Management Lifecycle.
10. Alignment with Guinness Behaviours.
Essential Experience:
1. Experience working within a Data Protection function.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Educated to Level 2 (C+ or 9-4 GCSE or equivalent) or higher.
Desired Qualifications:
1. IAPP Data Protection Qualification or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.
