The role would suit someone with experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement or industrial engineering who enjoys solving technical problems and improving efficiency, quality and output.Responsibilities for Manufacturing EngineerAs Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the stability, performance and development of manufacturing operations. You will work closely with production, quality and maintenance teams to improve processes, analyse performance data and implement practical engineering solutions across forging and machining operations.Improve and optimise manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality and outputProvide engineering support to production teams and resolve technical shopfloor issuesAnalyse OEE, scrap, downtime and rework data to identify improvement opportunitiesSupport root cause analysis, corrective actions and structured problem-solving activityCreate and maintain SOPs, control plans, work instructions and process documentationSupport process validation, new product introduction, tooling readiness and production trialsRequirements for Manufacturing EngineerThe ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing engineering or process improvement within an industrial, automotive, heavy engineering or regulated manufacturing environment.
You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and able to balance practical shopfloor support with structured improvement work.Degree, HNC or HND in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Production Engineering or similarExperience within manufacturing, industrial, automotive or heavy engineering environmentsCAD experience with the ability to read, interpret or update technical drawingsStrong understanding of process optimisation and Lean manufacturing principlesExperience improving production performance and resolving technical manufacturing issuesKnowledge of OEE, scrap, downtime, rework and structured problem-solving toolsPractical, analytical and solutions-focused approach with strong communication skillsTPBN1_UKTJ
