Join JCA Engineering in Harlow, Essex as a Quantity Surveyor and take full commercial ownership of high-value M&E contracts. Drive financial performance, manage supply chains, and support project delivery in a dynamic, data centre-focused environment.
Take charge of the financial and commercial management of multiple M&E contracts, primarily within the data centre sector. You'll lead valuations, forecasting, and variation processes, while identifying opportunities to maximise revenue. Collaborate with estimating teams, manage subcontractor relationships, and ensure compliance with contract terms. This is a high-impact role offering variety, autonomy, and the chance to shape project outcomes.
This role exists to ensure the financial success and contractual compliance of JCA's engineering projects, supporting growth and excellence in service delivery.
Responsibilities:
The Quantity Surveyor will oversee the financial and commercial management of multiple mechanical and electrical contracts, ensuring accurate valuations, forecasts, and cost control. Responsibilities include preparing tender documents, managing subcontractor engagements, identifying and mitigating commercial risks, and supporting project teams to maximise revenue and ensure contractual compliance.
Requirements:
4. Relevant Qualification – Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Engineering; MRICS accreditation preferred.
5. Industry Experience– Proven background in Mechanical & Electrical surveying, ideally within the data centre environment.
6. Technical Proficiency– Skilled in Excel, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Asta Powerproject, Anaplan, or similar systems.
7. Contractual Knowledge– Strong understanding of building contracts, commercial risk management, and statutory requirements.
8. Communication & Leadership– Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage teams and subcontractor relationships effectively.
