DSFS Ltd are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join our Domestic Services Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The Domestic Services Department provides a cleaning service to wards, departments and communal areas, playing a vital role in supporting patient care by maintaining a pleasant, hygienic and comfortable environment through high‑quality domestic services.
Positions available:
* Devonshire – 15 hours – 9:00am to 12:00pm
* Portland – 22.5 hours – 9:00am to 2:00pm
* Hasland – 9 hours – 9:00am to 2:00pm
* Hasland – 22.5 hours – 9:00am to 2:00pm
The positions are structured on a rota basis, requiring work on select weekends and public holidays.
Interviews week commencing 6th July.
Main duties of the job
* Clean specific areas in line with training given and in accordance with approved methods, NHS National cleaning standards and frequencies.
* Work in accordance with the day‑to‑day schedule, as directed.
* Safely utilise mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment following appropriate training and to be responsible for cleaning domestic services equipment after use.
* Work to prevent the spread of infection by following the National colour code system.
* Ensure that cleaning cupboards are locked and secured every time they are not in use and are responsible for the security of keys issued to these areas.
* Ensure compliance with mandatory training and attend other relevant training, as directed.
* Ensure compliance with relevant hospital policies and procedures.
* Report accidents and near misses or unsafe situations, so appropriate action can be taken.
* Treat patients, visitors and staff with dignity and respect.
* Undertake specialist cleans where knowledge of differing cleaning methodologies are required, resulting in the use of specific PPE.
* Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role / as requested by line management.
* Undertake actions arising from cleaning audits within agreed timeframes.
Qualifications and Training
* Read and understand information to the required standard.
* Basic education in Maths and English.
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
Experience
* Understanding the importance of confidentiality.
* Experience of working in a hospital environment.
* Previous experience in a similar environment.
Skills and Knowledge
* Good communication skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to carry out instructions accurately.
* Ability to undertake the physical aspects of the post.
* Basic IT skills.

* Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

DSFS currently does not offer a Certificate of Sponsorship; any applications which require sponsorship will not be considered. If DSFS offers sponsorship in the future, applicants will be required to provide full and accurate details of your current immigration status on the application form. Overseas applicants applying for entry clearance into the UK must provide a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided in continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.
