Overview We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to design and develop innovative mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems. You will play a key role in delivering compliant, high-quality solutions that meet technical, safety and client requirements, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed designsfor mechanical and naturalsmoke ventilation systems using CADand relevantsoftware Ensure designs meetfunctional,safety, regulatory,international fire safety standards, EN12101and client requirementswhile aligning with client specifications Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultantsto integrate ventilation systems seamlessly into building designs Review CFD analysis to optimise system performance in fire scenarios Produce technical documentation, specifications,installation guidelines,andproduct details Provide technical support during early conception of the design, and throughout Design Pack creation Research and implementnew technologiesand materials to enhance system performance Experience and Qualifications Degreein Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field Proven experience in designing smoke ventilation or similar building services Proficiencyin CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) Strong understanding of ventilation principles A basic knowledge of building regulations, fire safety codes, and ventilation systems standards(e.g. EN 12101, BS 9999) Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance Innovative problem-solver with a proactive and adaptable approach Full UK driving licence Desirable: Experience in high-rise residential,new-build developmentsor communal building systems Familiarity withBuilding Information Modelling (BIM)workflows Skills and Attributes Proactive, adaptable, and resilient with a flexible approach to change Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complexworkloads Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client presentations, team collaboration, and able to build strong relationships with clients and teams Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines Have the desire to learn and continually improve your knowledge Coaches andmentorsothers to develop capability and confidence CollaborativeTeam playerwho performs well under pressurein a fast-paced environment Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 Excel,Wordand PowerPoint Committed to equality,diversityand inclusion What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for career development and progression Ongoing training and professional support A collaborative and safety-focused working environment Please send your CV to our careers email.
