Overview
Progression Job Coach - Birmingham role with Serco. Location: Warwickshire, United Kingdom. Salary: £30,000 per annum, plus Serco Benefits.
To successfully manage a caseload of unemployed customers (Jobseekers) who are active Participants on the Restart scheme. The Progression Job Coach will carry out Needs Assessment and develop a bespoke Action Plan, working collaboratively with the Participant to address all barriers to sustained employment and support them into work. This will include a wide range of activities including referrals to specialist provision, 1-2-1 sessions to explore appropriate job goals, practical skills sessions (e.g. CV writing) and job search support. It is the responsibility of the Progression Job Coach to ensure that all Participants on their caseload receive the necessary guidance, support, and assistance to move towards and into work.
Core Responsibilities
* Deliver personal performance targets, Key Performance Indicators & Customer Service Standards.
* Undertake regular assessments of Participants’ pre-employment support needs and formulate development plans which enable Participants to attain sustainable work.
* Work directly with a caseload of Participants using a variety of coaching strategies, ensuring they have the skills, technique, confidence, and motivation to find employment.
* Provide guided, practical support to customers in creating a CV, cover letters, job application forms and offer support with job searching, interview preparation and confidence building.
* Assist customers in their search for work and actively seek out and secure suitable employment which matches the customer’s skills, experience, and aspirations.
* Engage with employers to identify suitable job/work opportunities for customers and provide the link between employers and customers, supporting both parties to get the right person into the job.
* Provide a flexible service to meet the needs of the customers and provide Participants with access to a range of other support elements including the EEC Candidate pool and Specialist wraparound support as appropriate.
* Ensure accurate and comprehensive records are maintained to reflect the Participant activities undertaken.
* Work within the Delivery Assurance Framework, ensuring services meet the required contract standards, including CSS compliance.
* Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high levels of service delivery in the event of sickness or other unforeseen events.
* Perform other duties commensurate with the role.
What You Will Need For The Role
* Demonstrated coaching and influencing experience from previous roles.
* Empathetic with a genuine passion to make a difference to Participants.
* IAG, teaching or employability sector experience desirable.
* Experience of working in a performance-driven environment.
* Qualified minimum to Level 3 IAG, education or equivalent, or willingness to work towards these qualifications.
* Knowledge of local job markets and the recruitment sector.
* Computer literate (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work across multiple teams.
* Ability to manage own workload and multiple priorities with strong organisation and time management.
* Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Maintains high standards of quality and accuracy with attention to detail.
* Evidence of integrity, values and ethics.
