Senior Advisor - Future Agriculture - Environmental Land Management - 31666
Overview and context
The Environment Agency is committed to an inclusive workforce reflecting the communities we serve. England is reforming agricultural policy and spending, moving from the Common Agricultural Policy to Environmental Land Management (ELM) schemes. ELM schemes incentivise farmers and land managers to deliver water, soil and biodiversity outcomes alongside food production. This role involves influencing the design and delivery of incentives within the wider context of the Agency’s response to government reviews and delivering the EA2030 strategy for water, environment and climate.
The Environment Agency ELM team seeks dynamic, strategic thinkers to help inform and shape the future of ELM, particularly the delivery of Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier (CSHT). The role contributes to delivering CSHT products for the Farming and Countryside Programme and supports continuous improvement in scheme design and delivery.
The team sits within the Nature & Place Directorate, part of the National Agriculture and Land Team, and works with government, statutory bodies and industry in an agile, fast-paced, flexible environment. We value our people and foster a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment with a dispersed team that stays connected using smart tools.
