Here at York and Scarborough NHS Trust we serve the impressive historic city itself but also cover the original seaside resort of Scarborough and the spa town of Harrogate. This post is for a full-time, substantive Consultant position based at York and Scarborough Hospitals. We are also open to offers of part-time working.

Responsibilities
* Candidates must have full GMC Registration and sufficient experience in the specialty to work independently in clinic and theatre.
* The candidate will contribute to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on-call rota, covering a diverse area of North Yorkshire. This is on a 1:6 basis (7-day pattern with Friday morning handover).
* We offer excellent opportunities for career development, with sizeable skin, head and neck and orthognathic practices, working closely with other hospital teams and MDTs. Research opportunities are encouraged.
* Our inclusive environment supports collaboration with neighbouring OMFS units and other specialties; we are a cohesive group with strong support from SAS grades and are one of the first units to train OMFS Surgical Care Practitioners.
Department and Activity
The Maxillofacial department sits within the Head and Neck & Plastics Directorate, part of the Surgical Care Group. It provides an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service to York and the whole of North Yorkshire (population around 850,000). Surgeons currently work at York, Scarborough, Bridlington, Selby and Harrogate. The Head and Neck Directorate includes Maxillofacial Surgery, ENT, Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Audiology, with its own Outpatient setting at York and an experienced outpatient reception team. There is a supportive managerial team and strong administrative and secretarial support.
