About the Role: As a Support Worker in a specialist SEND setting, you will assist pupils with a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs. Your support will enable students to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence in a nurturing environment. Your key Responsibilities will include: Provide individualised care and classroom support tailored to pupils' specific SEND requirements. Assist with personal care, physical mobility, and emotional regulation when required. Help implement learning activities and behaviour management strategies set by the class teacher and SEN staff. Foster positive relationships and encourage independence and engagement. Support students during transitions, lunch/break times, and off-site activities where needed. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all learners. The Successful Candidate should have: Previous experience supporting individuals with SEND in school, residential, or care settings is highly desirable. A caring and patient approach with excellent communication skills. An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to promoting the welfare of vulnerable children. Relevant qualifications in care, support work, or SEND education are beneficial but not essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
