Legal Counsel – In-House – 3–4 PQE – Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester or Nottingham
We are working with a dynamic and forward-thinking law firm seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to join its growing in-house legal function. Sitting within the Office of Legal Counsel, this is a unique opportunity to work in-house within a private practice environment, supporting strategic projects and advising on legal, commercial, and risk matters across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and technology agreements.
* Support or lead third-party contract negotiations with external vendors and partners.
* Advise on the legal aspects of new and existing products, including data protection and privacy considerations.
* Maintain and develop legal templates, policies, and internal guidance documents.
* Identify legal risks and develop practical mitigation strategies aligned with internal risk frameworks.
* Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to support high-impact initiatives.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified solicitor with 3–4 years’ PQE, ideally gained in a commercial or technology-focused role.
* Strong commercial awareness and the ability to align legal advice with business strategy.
* Experience advising on data protection, privacy, and technology-related matters.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
* Proactive, collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
