The ContinU Plus Academy is an innovative and exciting Alternative Provision Secondary Free School based in Kidderminster. Our academy is now in its Ninth year, and has achieved an Outstanding grading in all categories at Ofsted.
We are an educational provider for vulnerable and disengaged students in the Worcestershire area. All staff here are deeply committed to the wellbeing, safeguarding and academic progress of our pupils. We work together as a close knit team to ensure pupils at our school receive high quality and bespoke educational provision. As an alternative provision school, our students will present you with a variety of needs such as ADHD, ASD, attachment and behavioural needs. The candidate we are looking for should be compassionate and a resilient staff member to join our journey.
About the role:
We are ideally looking for a qualified Outdoor Education teacher or instructor with the ability to deliver some of the following; paddle sports, mountain biking, indoor or outdoor climbing, bush craft and hiking.
The successful candidate will be able to shape the Outdoor Education curriculum to their desire. In particular, we are looking for a Head of Outdoor Education who is able to deliver qualifications that can include GCSE, Entry Level and Functional skills qualifications across KS3, 4 and 5. We believe in engaging subjects with teachers who fully utilise interactive teaching methods in addition to the more formal approaches to engage a wide variety of learning needs.

Qualifications:
MIAS (or equivalent) Level 2 or higher
Mountain Leader (This is probably the most desirable)
Paddle sport instructor + Rescue
Climbing Instructor (Indoor or Outdoor)
Bush Craft Instructor
16 Hour Outdoor First Aid (this is a must and has to be in date otherwise all their other quals aren't valid)
