About the role
CPS is a joint Venture project with Balfour Beatty, Atkins, and Egis. We operate and maintain the M25. The M25 is the busiest section of motorway in Europe and requires careful and efficient planning of work in order to deliver over 100m of annual investment in the highway infrastructure each year, in addition to planned and reactive maintenance activity.

We are looking for a Maintenance expert to work with our team out of our Swanley depot.
You will be part of the team that deliver an efficient service to the M25 DBFO Network by undertaking a wide range of incident response, hazard clearance, network maintenance and other tasks as required by Line Manager.
What you'll be doing
1. Undertake activities, as instructed, with capabilities to ensure that your area of responsibility is maintained. This will include but not exclusive to:
2. cyclical maintenance graffiti removal
3. carriageway repairs,
4. soft estate maintenance (e.g. grassland maintenance)
5. litter picking,
6. sign maintenance,
7. cleansing
8. safety fence repairs
9. boundary fence repairs
10. civil engineering or building tasks of minor remedial nature (eg headwall repair)
11. Any other duties allocated by Line Managers.
12. Implement Chapter 8 compliant Traffic Management in line with CPS policies, method statements, risk assessments and industry standards.
13. Provide accurate and legible written and verbal communication in the form of reports and records as required.
14. Use mobile communication/data devices to accurately input data for record purposes to form reports and business records as required
15. Undertake routine vehicle checks and maintain accurate and up to date driving records in line with legislation in accordance with CPS procedures and legislation.
16. Taking due care of any CPS property including but not limited to tablets, vehicles and radios.
17. Raise awareness of issues which may affect the safe operation of the network and report these as observed.
18. Check that Traffic Management signs, equipment and materials are carried on vehicles in line with current Maintenance checklist and are in working order, restock and record and report defects as appropriate.
19. Participate in Winter Service rota as required

Who we're looking for
Qualifications (Essential)
23. UK Driving Licence, minimum category C (LGV Class 2)
24. CSCS Operative Card
25. Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Highways Maintenance
26. Traffic Management Foreman (TMF) qualification/Lead Traffic Management Operative (LTMO) OR hold a 360 excavator competence AND 2B VRS Basic & ABC/CCB

29. NHSS12A/B 1 Day qualification
30. 12AB For Static Temporary Traffic Management on High Speed Roads and All Purpose Trunk Road (APTR) network
31. NHSS Sector 2 A/B Fencing qualification
32. Unit 518 (formerly unit 13) Winter Service Operations and unit 580 (formerly unit 80) Snowplough/ V blade
33. Appropriate lifting qualification
34. Vehicle Marshall
35. 12AB Impact Protection Vehicle Courses (IPV)
36. Strimmer
Experience
37. Experience of working in a similar traffic / transport / highways / recovery role are preferred.
Essential Criteria
38. Successfully pass the Security check as part of recruitment process
39. Successfully pass the annual driving license check
40. Successfully pass pre employment Drug & Alcohol test and further test upon request
41. Successfully pass the Companys health screening programme
42. Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety briefings and instructions and contribute to Zero Harm
43. Physically able to deploy traffic management (eg placing and lifting cones and signage).
Working Arrangements
44. Expected to work on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, that rotating equally between 4 day shifts an 4 and night shifts
45. Day shifts are 05:00 to 17:00 including 2x30 minute breaks, night shifts 17:00 to 05:00 including 2x30 minute breaks
46. Reasonable level of travel around M25 network and between depots
47. Travel to meetings, training and works sites outside normal operational area
48. Expected to participate in out of hours call out rotas e.g. Winter Maintenance
