Overview
Are you an experienced manager or leader within a community mental health setting, with an interest in Looked After and Adopted Children and their families and carers? This role is for a Community Team Manager within the CFYP Looked After and Adopted Children’s (LAAC) Team, working with a multi-disciplinary team to support the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable young people. The role includes managing the CFYP LAAC service and a peripatetic component to gain experience across the CFYP service line.
We work closely with Social Care and young people’s carers, particularly supporting those with attachment or trauma-related difficulties from their past history.
Responsibilities
To ensure a safe, caring, responsive, high-quality service for service users, families and carers within the clinical environment, in compliance with statutory/regulatory requirements and Trust policies, pathways, standard operating procedures and protocols.
Allocate work within the team to ensure effective and efficient use of resources, monitor team contribution and performance against the Trust’s objectives, and provide professional governance and leadership within the area.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential: RMN, Dip SW, or Dip OT, or HCPC registered; Experience in working within Community Mental Health Services
* Desirable: Ongoing professional development, higher degree or postgraduate certificate in area of clinical/therapeutic practice; Post-basic teaching qualification; ILM certificate in management or equivalent
Experience Essential: Demonstrable senior clinical experience including staff management/supervision; experience in a multi-disciplinary team; evidence of leadership in a mental health care environment including service development
* Desirable: Previous experience of working with complex case management
Skills Essential: Competent treatment and care planning skills; excellent communication and assessment skills; ability to establish performance management structures; ability to prioritise workload; competent IT skills and service development
Knowledge Essential: Knowledge of medication and monitoring effects; knowledge of psychosocial interventions and health/promotion; understanding of local and national policies and guidelines
