Your Role and Responsibilities
As our Drainage and Water Design Team Leader, you will:
* Lead a talented Transportation Drainage & Water team, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of work packages.
* Support and implement process improvements and efficiency initiatives, fostering a culture of technical innovation.
* Act as the technical lead for assigned work packages, ensuring compliance with DM RB, LLFA, and local authority standards.
* Plan, price, and deliver work packages under Option C/E design contracts while proactively managing risks.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Local Authorities, LLFAs, National Highways, and utilities.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* Proven experience in leading and developing design teams (7–14 members), including managing programmes, budgets, and risks.
* Experience in managing clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and positive outcomes.
* A track record of delivering high-quality, compliant highway drainage and flood risk solutions.
* Practical knowledge of DMRB, LLFA requirements, and local authority standards.
* Familiarity with SUDS, Planning Policy, Building Regulations, and flood risk strategy approvals.
* A full driving license and willingness to travel as required.
Working Conditions
Location: Salford (with remote working options available and occasional office travel required).
